Mar. 26 — The plastic bag recycling bins near the entrance of Walmart and most grocery stores also accept bubble mailers, poly mailers, plastic wraps, air pillows, and other soft plastics. See Recycling.

Jan. 6 — The updated Recycling, Redemption, Reuse guide provides options for responsible disposal and redemption of plastics, paper, cans, batteries, appliances, metals, styrofoam, and other items.
Dec. 21 — Cheryl Helton wrote about the history and symbology of the Pine Mountain Star in the Blount Countian.
Dec. 18 – Check out the photos from Friendship Club’s December meeting and Christmas-themed Paint n’ Party.
Dec. 12 – Added Birmingham Recycling & Recovery, a drop-off point for most recyclables, to Recycling. Along with the Oneonta and Hayden drop-offs listed, this is the closest option I’ve found. If you know of any recycling facilities (especially for #1-2 plastics) closer to Pine Mountain, please do advise.
Nov. 30 — An article about Friendship Club and its historic roots was featured on the front page The Blount Countian.
Nov. 23 — The Blount Countian published an article about Bluegrass Christmas, a Dec. 2 benefit concert at which Pine Mountain Bluegrass Band will play.

Oct. 24 – See PMCC to learn of the Board’s surreptitious adoption of new By-Laws that impose restrictive rules on voting while drastically reducing the number of eligible voters.

Oct. 12 – “Power line spraying ignites concern,” about herbicide spraying by Alabama Power contractors in Pine Mountain, Holly Springs, and Remlap, published in the Blount Countian.

Oct. 7 – Native Pine Mountain resident Charley Head was featured in the Blount Countian. On this site, updated Fall Festival.

Sept. 28 – Added information about the 911 Address Sign Project (and ordered a sign myself). Thank you, Jessica! Posted new photos to Craft Night (and added them to the FB album).
Sept. 27 – Posted Trade Day 09.22+24 gallery, and on FB. Added First Baptist Remlap Trunk or Treat to the Calendar (Oct 31).
Sept. 26 – Bluegrass Jamboree album posted on this site and on FB! Bluegrass Christmas added to the Calendar. Updated the PMCC reference sheet with the new info from Nicole Wilson (see Sept. 24 updates, below). Added new photos to Sandra, Christy, Monica & Kevin, Nicole, Crystal, Amanda, Carla.
Sept. 25 – New page for Fall Festival and new event details added.
Sept. 24 – Added Pine Mountain Fall Festival (Oct. 24) to the Calendar. Added new information from Nicole Wilson, secretary of Southeastern Rec Association, to the PMCC Board Costs & Income section. Posted a 1987 article.
Sept. 23 – Updated Community Center and Emergency with bits of history. Added Pine Bluff Church Fall Festival (Oct. 29) to the Calendar.
Sept. 22 – Minor updates to Trade Day, Vendor Information, and Help Out at Trade Day.
Sept. 21 – Posted new photos to Craft Night (and added them to the FB album) and moved August photos to their own album. Started a new neighbor page for Emilee! (Thank you, Vicky!)
Sept. 20 – Edited the PMCC reference sheet to include more direct quotes and additional citations.
Sept. 19 – Added a recommended photographer to Services. Thank you, Jamie!
Sept. 18 – Please see the PMCC reference sheet, which has been updated with contact info added and minor cleanups to the wording which I have also incorporated into PMCC Board. Updates to Community Center, Bluegrass Jamboree, Bluegrass & BBQ Annual, and Volunteering for the Annual Fundraiser.
Sept. 17 – The PMCC meeting was canceled: see the notice posted this morning. New date TBA. This site and FB event updated accordingly. Updates and additions to Book Club, Friendship Club, PMCC Board, and Community Center. Barry & Donna Wilson acknowledgement added to Playground (thank you, Heather Fraley!). Also posted important PMCC building and facility usage info, then updated at 6:30 pm with new info added.
Sept. 16 – The next Book Club meeting (and book) has been added to the Calendar! Also worked on Churches & Cemeteries, Emergency, PMCC Board, and the Annual BBQ Volunteer page. Added Phillip Frost Transmission to Services. Clarified information about the use of the regulation ballfield. Added new email address for sending Directory info or helping out with the project.
Sept. 15 – Please help us build an all-inclusive Pine Mountain directory by adding your information. The listing form is now available: you can print it and fill it out, or email the info.
Sept. 14 – Lots of structural changes to the website, which will hopefully be invisible. If you encounter an error page, feel free to let me know so I can fix it. Also, updated Patrick and added his firewood to Homegrown. Added one more photo to Craft Night and added the five new photos to the Craft Night FB album.
Sept. 13 – Added new photos to Craft Night. Added Diane’s sewing and alterations to Services. Added next Friendship Club meeting to the Calendar. Updated Friendship Club and the Pine Mountain Community Church listing at Churches. Added photos to Friendship Club. Added contact info to Cindy’s page and started a new page for Telitha. Created the graphic and FB event for Friendship Club.

Posted Trade Day 09.22 FB event. Updated Bluegrass. Updated all three Trade Day pages. Added Learn to Knit to the Calendar. Started new page for Sylvia & Jack.
Sept. 8 – Added Lee’s Chapel photo to Churches. Added the names of the three PMCC Board trustees, thanks to Kenneth McIntyre. Updated Patrick’s page. Updated Trade Day, Help at Trade Day, and Vendor Information.

Sept. 5 – Becky is starting a Book Club! The first meeting is now on the Calendar and FB. New Book Club page. Added Carolyn Spain to Services. Added names to a few more of the Bread Class photos.
Sept. 4 – More progress in the Calendar overhaul: please check it out! Added items discussed in last week’s Calendar Planning to Your Help Needed and Submissions. Updated Trade Day with the news that our collaboration at Bluegrass Jamboree events will continue, plus a new photo and simplified text. Added PMCC meeting agenda items to Calendar. Added Extension class links to Calendar and Extension. Added FB groups to Local Info (thanks for the suggestion, Becky!). Simplified Trade Day Vendor Info. Finished parsing Calendar Planning notes: now everything is listed at Your Help Needed.
Sept. 3 – I reworked the design and coding of the Calendar to make it easier to read. Also posted Becky’s intro and photo, and added fundraiser information to Community Center and PMCC. Then more extensive coding updates which should be invisible; if anything is off please let me know.
