We get together and talk about movies we have watched, football games we attended, and what we saw and had to have at Trade Days. Have you noticed we talk about our favorite authors and books that we have read? Is there a book you always wanted to read? Or do you want to discover a new author and plot line? Yes? This event may be for you!
Let’s make this a unique book club, not like the ones you read about when you google “book club.” The rule is “There are no rules.” Let’s meet in person. Let’s have a coke, coffee, maybe cookies and cake. We can all read the same book and learn how to figure out what we like (or don’t like) about it. Or we can all read a different book, then come to our get together and pitch it to our friends so they can enjoy it too. If you have read a book, let’s hear about it. I would like to build on the idea of “community” and focus on books by a local authors. Did you know we have “real” published authors living in our midst: from Straight Mountain to Florence to Mobile, Alabama. Let’s celebrate “us.”
