Playground
The Community Center’s playground installation began on July 18, 2022, after two years of work by many contributors, including the PMCC Board, Amy Rhudy of Blount County Memorial Museum, Cawaco RC&D Council, Blount County Commissioner Nick Washburn and the District 4 crew, and everyone who has volunteered with and contributed to Pine Mountain Community Center. Community Center neighbors Donna & Barry Wilson donated the dirt to fill in the area for the playground. A fence was added in early September, with funding from an anonymous donor.
The Blount Countian published an article about the playground on the front page of the August 10, 2022 issue. The article mentions the Cawaco RC&D grant that funded $5,000 toward the playground equipment. In August, Cawaco provided an additional $2,500.
